What is OLTP?

Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) enables the real-time execution of large numbers of database transactions for groups of people. OLTP functions over the Internet, with the systems enabling change, deletion, insertion, or query generation in the database.

OLTP is the major driver behind everyday financial transactions, including e-commerce and in-store purchases.
