Nexla Partners with Google Cloud for AlloyDB Launch
Nexla is proud to be a launch partner for Google’s new AlloyDB for PostgreSQL. AlloyDB is a new open-source database engine built on PostgreSQL for top-tier relational database workloads, for better performance and analytics while being fully compatible with the popular open-source PostgreSQL. The AlloyDB connector is already available in Nexla, making it easy to try out AlloyDB with any of your existing SQL databases or any other data system such as warehouses, applications, analytical apps, and more.
AlloyDB offers performance benchmarks up to four times faster than transactional PostgreSQL workloads, and up to one hundred times performance for analytical queries. AlloyDB joins Google’s family of PostgreSQL products alongside Cloud Spanner and Cloud SQL with a focus on better availability and analytics plus real-time analytics. According to Google, “AlloyDB combines the best of Google with one of the most popular open-source database engines, PostgreSQL, for superior performance, scale, and availability.” You can read more about the launch here.
Why AlloyDB?
With powerful database connections already in Nexla to SQL databases, including PostgreSQL, adding AlloyDB made perfect sense to continue offering limitless database connectivity in Nexla. Nexla’s no/low-code SQL connection with the ability to add custom SQL queries makes for a powerful method of working with databases while data products and access controls make it much easier to grant access to data without sharing credentials and exposing entire databases to end users. Finally, Nexla makes it as easy as one-click to expose any database as an API, and vice versa.
Why Nexla?
As a Google Cloud partner with recent Google Cloud Big Query Ready certification, supporting AlloyDB on Day 1 made sense for Nexla, in support of Nexla’s mission to bring more database access to more data users. To learn more about our work with Google, read our recently published case study of Bed Bath & Beyond using Nexla to build flows into Google BigQuery. Nexla’s mission is to make any data ready-to-use from any system, and supporting AlloyDB is another in a string of universal systems made available in Nexla’s data platform.
